Daniel Frasnay (*1928) - considered as one of the last representatives of the humanist movement of French photographers (among Doisneau, Izis, Kertész or Boubat).
I discovered him relatively recently through some of his amazing portraits of artists… wondering why his work was not better known/recognized. I don’t know!anyhow, searching some infos about him, i found:
his Facebook page
a film about him: Daniel Frasnay, le royaume et l’exil (by Philippe Jadot, Belgium, 2004, 46 mn.)
some of his books showing his “palette”:
Paris la nuit, textes de Jacques Robert, Raoul Solar, 1956.
Leur monde. Peintres et sculpteurs, Draeger-Vilo, 1969.
Paris Parade, textes de Jan Brusse, éditions En vues, 1999
Les girls. Paris 1952-1979, introduction de Philippe Garner, Greybull Press, 2005
