Leurs yeux toujours purs
Jours de lenteur, jours de pluie,Jours de miroirs brisés et d’aiguilles perdues,Jours de paupières closes à l’horizon des mers,D’heures toutes semblables, jours de captivité,

Slow days, rainy days,Days of broken mirrors and lost needles,Days of eyelids closed to the horizon of seas,Of hours all alike, days of captivity,
My spirit still shining on leavesAnd flowers is as naked as loved,The dawn it forgets makes it lower its headAnd contemplate its vain, obedient body.
Yet, I have seen the most beautiful eyes in the world,Gods of silver who hold sapphires in their hands,Real gods, birds in the earthAnd the water, I have seen them.
Their wings are mine, nothing existsBut their flight that rattles my misery,Their starry and luminous flightTheir terrestrial flight, their lithic flightOn the waves of their wings.
